Firefighters Hurt Battling Jericho, NY, Condo Fire

One Nassau County firefighter had trouble breathing while another suffered an ankle injury.

Three firefighters were injured while battling flames of a condominium fire on Long Island.

Heavy flames broke out on Vista Drive around 10:20 p.m. on Christmas Day. Crews returned Thursday morning when debris rekindled. 

Officials say one firefighter was taken to an area hospital after suffering an ankle injury. Another also hospitalized after having difficulty breathing while another was treated at the scene.

Both the Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad are investigating, abc7 reported.
