Six people were taken to the hospital following a chain-reaction crash Thursday night involving a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue apparatus and eight other vehicles.
The multi-vehicle accident happened at around 8:15 p.m. near NW 27th Street and Opa-Locka Boulevard in Opa-Locka, police stated in an online update. Investigators told WSVN-TV that the apparatus had been responding to a call when it collided with another vehicle, starting a chain reaction that included seen other vehicles.
Two trapped motorists needed to be extricated from their vehicle, and six people were taken to area possible, with two people transported as trauma alerts, according to WSVN. It wasn't clear if any of the injured had been Miami-Dade Fire Rescue members traveling in the apparatus.
