Wheeled Coach Announces Exciting Line-Up for FDIC
WINTER PARK, FLORIDA – April 21, 2023 – Wheeled Coach®, a brand of REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc., a subsidiary of REV Group, Inc., and a premier manufacturer of ambulances for fire and rescue agencies across the globe, announces it will feature ambulances built for the U.S. Army and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), in addition to a Wheeled Coach demo truck in Booth #4220 at FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) April 27-29, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The U.S. Army ambulance is a Type 1 Wheeled Coach built on a Ford F-450 4x4 chassis. The patient compartment is 153” long x 98” wide with 72” headroom with an aluminum interior. Key features of the ambulance include: an AeroClave® decontamination system, a CASPR UV air purification system, a secondary AC compressor, 12v/110v HVAC system with dual evaporator and a Cool Bar® condenser system, plus a narcotics lock box and a blanket warmer.
The FDNY ambulance is a Type 1 Wheeled Coach built on an F-550 4x4 extended cab chassis. The modular body is 150” long x 92” wide with 66” of headroom. The vehicle features an idle mitigation system with solar panels, plus an energy absorbing rear bumper and solid polypropylene rub rails. Additional equipment includes a custom camera system to assist the driver, Klam brake retarder, Vista Brake Lock and a HAAS Alert digital alerting system.
The Wheeled Coach demo truck is a Ford E-450 Type 3 ambulance with a 170” long x 95” wide x 72” high patient module. The cab area has a 10” cab extension for crew comfort. The vehicle features a custom squad bench with dual storage cabinets and an additional control panel on the curbside. Counter tops are solid surface for easy cleaning. The HVAC system is center mounted with UV Light and a Cool Bar external condenser. There is a custom ALS cabinet which also provides storage for a LUCAS device. The exterior features a blackout package that enhances the battleship gray graphics, plus Whelen’s M Series™ LED light package that includes the latest M9 series EZ Scene™ lights. The truck has a repositioned CPR seat, plus Per4Max® seat belts from IMMI in all patient compartment seating positions to keep the crew safer.
