SHELBY, Ohio --
A pile of cars about 30 feet high is on fire in Shelby in Richland County.
The Shelby Fire Department received a call at 12:15 a.m. about a fire at MillIron Industries on Springmill Road. MillIron Industries is a large auto recycling business.
Firefighter Zack Gwirtz said there is a pile of cars about about 200 by 200 yards wide and 30 feet tall on fire. He said the cars will continue to burn for hours.
All fire departments in the county are at the scene, except for Mansfield. Several fire departments from Crawford County were also assisting trying to battle the blaze.
Firefighters have been injured and transported to a local hospital. There was no immediate word on their conditions.
