Texas Firefighters Injured in Semi Truck Accident

Four firefighters were hospitalized.

MESQUITE, Texas --

A semi trailer sideswiped a fire truck on westbound Interstate 30 in Mesquite sending four firefighters to a hospital.

The fire engine was at the scene of an automobile accident on the westbound lanes of the highway east of Northwest Drive when it was struck at about 1:15 p.m.

Four fire personnel on board the engine were taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas with non-life-threatening injuries.

Six people in the semi truck refused medical treatment at the scene.

All but one lane of westbound Interstate-30 was closed tying up traffic.
