3-Alarm Fire Engulfs San Francisco Chinatown Restaurant

Oct. 31, 2005
Firefighters said hot grease started the fire.

Firefighters said that "hot grease" started a Sunday afternoon fire in Chinatown, NBC11 News reported.

The blaze broke out around noon at the China Town restaurant on Washington, not far from the Trans-America building.

The fire grew to three alarms, but did not spread to other buildings, NBC11 News reported.

Fire officials said that they were lucky since the closest fire department that could have responded to the fire was in a brown out.

Everyone made it out the fire safely, NBC11 News reported.

No injuries were reported.
