Baltimore fire and hazardous materials crews responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon at a building that may contain chemicals.
WBAL-TV 11 News has learned at about 2 p.m. that fire crews responded to the 3300 block of Weedon Avenue at the Choice Restoration Services property, where fire officials said trash and tires are burning at the location. Fire crews have since called two alarms because of chemicals contained at the property.
The fire spread to an adjacent vacant building. Hazardous materials crews have responded to the scene for reports of polyurethane, diesel fuel and epoxy at the scene. Fire officials told 11 News two firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries. Officials did not specify how the firefighters were injured.
Fire officials told 11 News an employee heard some strange noises in a room, and found the fire when he opened the door. The employee and three others were able to evacuate the building safely.
