LAKE COUNTY, Fla. --

Fire crews in Lake County were still working to contain a wildfire Tuesday that forced residents to evacuate their homes and RVs late Monday.

The blaze near Hancock Lake is only about 15-percent contained. The terrain in the area is making fighting the fire difficult.

The Florida brush, made up of mostly oak that's ten feet or shorter, is surprisingly tough to plow through. The cypress domes also create problems, with lots of fuel for fires beneath the tall trees.

The Division of Forestry has revised its numbers on the size of the blaze, saying about 100 acres, not 200, are burning.

About 30 people in an RV park and rental facility near Hancock Lake had to be evacuated because of the flames Monday night. Fire crews Tuesday said the conditions were cooperating, but expected it to take two or three days to get it fully under control.

At the height of the blaze early Monday evening, crews from all around the Four Corners area were working together too keep the fire away from the RV park.
