Carbon Monoxide Leak Leaves 10 Ill in Texas

Firefighters determined the leak was coming from the ground outside the daycare center.

Eight children and two adults were hospitalized after high levels of carbon monoxide were detected at a Pantego day care.

Gail's Academy Day Care Center was evacuated shortly after noon on Tuesday.

Eight children were transported to Cook's Childrens Hospital in Fort Worth. Two adults were also hospitalized. The conditions of the children and adults are not known. Those that were not hospitalized found shelter at the nearby Arlington Chinese Bible Church on Superior Drive.

The day care is located on the 2200 block of Bowen Road between Arkansas Lane and West Pioneer Parkway.

Firefighters and emergency personnel from Arlington and Pantego were at the scene and determined that the carbon monoxide leak was coming from the ground outside of the day care.
