NEW YORK (AP) -- A house fire in Queens injured six people, including three firefighters early Wednesday.
The blaze started around 2 a.m. at a home at 115-43 124th Street in the South Jamaica section. About 12 companies and 60 firefighters responded to the all hands fire.
Fire department spokesman Charlie Markey said three people found in the house were rescued and taken to Jamaica Hospital for smoke inhalation. Three firefighters were also taken to Jamaica Hospital for minor injuries.
Fire companies brought the blaze under control at 2:43 a.m.
The Queens fire is the second in a week that resulted in injuries or deaths to firefighters.
On Sunday, three firefighters were killed fighting fires in the Bronx and Brooklyn. Four others were critically injured fighting the Bronx fire.
