ATLANTA (AP) -- Hundreds of students from Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta were evacuated Wednesday afternoon because of an electrical fire, officials said.

The fire, reported at 1:38 p.m., started in the utility room of an auditorium, said Jolene Butts-Freeman, Atlanta Fire Department spokeswoman.

No injuries were reported. The school has 1,900 students and an undisclosed number of faculty and staff members.

Students were expected to return to school Thursday, depending on how much of the school's electrical system was affected by the fire, said Joe Manguno, spokesman for Atlanta Public Schools.
