Myersville, MD -- A Martinsburg, West Virginia, man says he was finally able to free himself yesterday morning after spending four days trapped under a car that went over an embankment Wednesday in Frederick County.

Forty-three-year-old Brian Struntz says the crash happened on Interstate 70 near Myersville when he swerved to avoid a deer.

The car went over a 30-foot embankment.

Struntz says he was able to get out of the car after the crash, but says a falling tree limb hit the car and pinned his leg.

Struntz says he dug at the grass and dirt until he freed himself.

He called police yesterday from a cell phone at 6:50 a.m.

He came away with just minor injuries.

Police say both his wife and workplace reported him missing.

Troopers are still investigating the accident.
