WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- An accident involving 2 cars and a Reston Limousine shuttle bus headed to the Field School in the 4100 block of Nebraska Avenue NW in D.C. has injured more than 20 people. One boy was found outside the bus next to a broken window, and officials believe he may have been ejected from the bus.
D.C. firefighters tweeted (@IAFF36) that 18 children were on the bus at the time. Fire officials reported that 5 people -- 3 adults and two children -- were transported by ambulance to the hospital. Sixteen people were transported via a mass ambulance bus.
One of the people injured was the 51-year-old bus driver, who had a broken ankle. The drivers of the other two vehicles, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a sedan, were also transported to the hospital.
A crew at the scene says the bus was up on the grass by the National Presbyterian Center. The bus was shuttling teens from the Friendship Heights Metro station to the Field School.
