Investigators are looking into a suspicious fire that did extensive damage to a 19th-century house in Lansingburgh, according to Fire Chief Thomas Garrett.
Firefighters responded to a call at 4:08 a.m. Saturday regarding a blaze at the corner of 114th Street and Third Avenue. The fire did extensive damage to the property, which Garrett referred to as an "old mansion" with 1886 painted on the side. A carriage house in the back was undamaged.
No one was injured. The home, which had been foreclosed on, was vacant. No damage was done to nearby property.
