LA Firefighter Hurt in House Fire

A Baton Rouge firefighter was taken to the hospital and another person was injured during a house fire Sunday night that also burned two vehicles in the driveway.

One person was killed and a firefighter was hospitalized after a house fire Sunday night on Hibiscus Drive in the Pollard Estates area, Baton Rouge Fire Department spokesman Curt Monte said.

The fire happened in the 5900 block of Hibiscus Drive. The blaze was initially reported at 8:27 p.m. An investigator is on the scene, Monte said.

The tires ruptured on two vehicles that were burning in the driveway, Monte said.

No other details were immediately released.
