CT Ambulance Transporting Patient Catches Fire

A Beacon Hose Company No. 1 ambulance in Beacon Falls "experienced an engine-compartment fire" while taking a patient with breathing issues to the hospital.

A Connecticut ambulance taking a patient to the hospital caught fire Monday.

Beacon Hose Company No. 1 in Beacon Falls responded to a call at about 1:30 p.m. concerning a person who was having breathing issues, WTNH-TV reports. On the way to the hospital, the ambulance "experienced an engine-compartment fire," the department stated in an update on social media.

No one was injured in the incident, and the patient was taken to the hospital by the department's other ambulance. Firefighters were able to help "remove some of our expensive equipment from the back of the ambulance," according to the department.
