Two San Antonio Fire Department EMS workers and a patient were among four people injured when a silver sedan struck an ambulance headed to the hospital.

Four people were hospitalized after a possible drunk driver collided with an ambulance Monday morning, San Antonio police said.

According to police, the ambulance was driving on Culebra Road when a silver sedan turned into the ambulance at the Les Harrison Drive intersection. The sedan hit the emergency vehicle on the front driver's side, causing the ambulance to jump the median and crash into a fence on Easterling.

The ambulance was transporting an elderly woman to the hospital for a medical issue at the time of the crash.

The two EMS personal as well as a man and a woman inside the sedan were taken to University Hospital. Another ambulance transported the elderly woman. No one suffered major injuries.

Police said they believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. It is unclear if the man or the woman was the driver of the sedan and whether they will face charges.
