Two Seriously Injured in OH Ambulance Wreck

A pickup struck an ambulance head-on Wednesday night near Newark, and a fire medic and the truck driver were both airlifted with serious injuries.

A responder was one of two people airlifted to a hospital with serious injuries after a head-on crash involving a fire department ambulance in central Ohio.

According to WBNS News, the incident happened at about 9:15 pm on Wednesday night near Newark when a pickup truck driver crossed the center line and slammed into the Madison Township Fire Department ambulance.

Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that a medic inside the ambulance and the truck driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt and required extrication, were both airlifted to a hospital in serious condition.

Two other medics inside the ambulance were taken to an area hospital and treated for injuries.
