Douglas Cline talks with Deputy Chief John Tippett about the impact of OSHA on fire department operations, whether on the fireground or in the station. Tipppett, a deputy chief with the Charleston, SC, Fire Department was a battalion chief in Montgomery County, MD and one of the creators of the National Fire Fighter Near-Miss Reporting System.

The two start off with a discussion on OSHA's primary involvement with members of the fire/rescue community and how departments and government can use OSHA policies to create operating guidelines. 

The two veterans move on to discuss how OSHA can impact firefighter fitness, training and fireground operations.
