Barstow, CA, Fire Captain Dies after Medical Emergency

Barstow Fire Capt. Garret Miller, who served with the district since 2017, was formerly with the U.S. Forest Service.

Funeral arrangements aretentatively scheduled for Nov. 13 for Barstow Fire Capt. Garret Miller who died on duty this past week.

Miller suffered a medical emergecny while assigned to ME366, according to a statement posted by IAFF Local 2325 on its Facebook page.  

Miller has served with the district since Sept. 10, 2017. He also was a firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service-San Bernardino National Forest and Fort Irwin Fire Department.

A celebration of life is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 13 at Victor Valley College.
