Three people inside a Maine ambulance were trapped by downed electrical lines following a crash Monday.
The East Millinocket ambulance was transporting a 12-year-old patient shortly after 11 p.m. when the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the road in Bridgewater, the Bangor Daily News reports. The unit collided with a utility pole and crashed into a ditch.
No one was injured inside the ambulance, but the live power lines knocked down by the collision landed on the vehicle and trapped the occupants. They eventually were able to get out of the ambulance once utility workers shut down the power in the area.
The ambulance suffered severe damage in the incident.
