Tankers Respond to Mass. House Fire

Firefighters from six communities responded to the scene of an Oct. 16 house fire in Phillipston.

Upon arrival on Royalston Road, they found heavy fire from a one-story area with an enclosed pool at the rear of the home. Flames and smoke extended into the garage and two-story home.

Mutual aid was called from Templeton, Athol, Orange, Petersham, and Royalston and crews used tankers to shuttle water from a nearby pond.

Aerial ladders from Athol and Templeton were used to bring the fire under control.
